About PART

Built by a certification body

P.A.R.T. stands for Process Audit Recording Tool. The tool comes out of Scandinavian Business Certification, a SWEDAC-accredited certification body, and is built for the work they do themselves every week.

The background

A tool that came out of the need, not out of a product plan

Most systems for audit documentation are built by software companies that have read a standard. PART is built inside a certification body that carries out audits against several standards, is accredited by SWEDAC and is examined accordingly.

The difference shows in the details. Where the link between requirement and observation should be made, how a nonconformity should be classified and followed, what has to be shown afterwards: these are questions answered by someone who has sat in the meeting room, not by someone guessing.

That does not mean PART only suits one body. The methodology is process-based auditing, and the industry shares it. Every certification body using PART gets its own environment, its own templates and its own address.

What it means

Three things that perspective gives

The methodology is the starting point

Process-based auditing sits in the structure, not as a setting you have to configure. Your auditor recognises the way it is set up.

We know what gets examined

A certification body is examined itself. The requirements on traceability and documentation are written by someone who has to answer to them.

We host what we sell

The application is hosted in Sweden and uses no third-party cloud services. You get a short answer to a question your clients put to you.

The parent company

Scandinavian Business Certification

SBcert, Scandinavian Business Certification AB, is a certification body accredited by SWEDAC. It certifies management systems against ISO standards and against a number of industry-specific schemes.

SBcert uses PART in its own operation, on its own address. The tool is therefore tested by live audits before it reaches another certification body.

Certification areas

Standards SBcert certifies against

The breadth says something about what PART is built to carry: integrated audits against several standards in the same assignment.

Quality and environment

ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental management, the two standards that most often sit at the base of an integrated management system.

Occupational health and road safety

ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety and ISO 39001 for road traffic safety, both of which place demands on follow-up out in the business.

Information security

ISO 27001 for information security management systems, along with examination against SOC 2.

Social responsibility

ISO 26000, which covers an organisation's responsibility beyond its own operation.

Industry certifications

Beyond the ISO standards, SBcert certifies against a number of industry-specific schemes.
